Race Supplies
On race day, everything needs to be in tip top shape. Race supplies need to be organized and accounted for well before the beginning of the race itself. In a sport where every second counts, it is up to the pit crew to ensure that everything that might be needed is readily available.
Safety is a top priority for any racing team, which means that a great many race supplies commonly seen in the pit area are safety related. Fire suppression systems are perhaps the most common safety equipment in the pit. However, spare safety harnesses and other vehicle safety equipment are always nearby.
Not all race supplies are vehicle oriented. During the course of a race a driver can become extremely dehydrated. Water, sports drinks, and food are always available to the driver during pit stops.
