Racing Equipment

“Racing equipment” is a vast and nebulous term. The variety of different items that could possibly fall into this category is almost innumerable. However, in most cases, equipment can be divided into items for the car, and items for the driver.

Racing equipment for the driver is generally clothing oriented. Due to the many opportunities for a significant crash during a race, and inherent risk of fire, racing clothing is designed to be fireproof. From the underwear to the racing suit and boots to gloves, the idea is to protect the driver from being severely burned in the unfortunate event of a crash.

For the car, racing equipment is a lot more varied. Safety equipment like roll cages and safety harnesses are absolutely essential for a race car. Performance enhancing mechanical and suspension equipment, high-octane gasoline, and even tires can all be specialized for different types of racing.
