Racing Gloves

If you’ve ever driven through the Arizona desert in July, with no air conditioning, you might have an idea of what your average race car driver goes through at every event. The intense heat produced during a race can cause a great deal of sweating, which is why racing gloves are so important. Any slip of the hands on the steering wheel can cause a serious accident.

Most racing gloves are designed to provide the maximum amount of grip possible for the driver. Often made with a leather or rubber palm, these items ensure that your hands stay firmly planted on the steering wheel. They are also made to be extremely fire resistant.

For an amateur racer, inexpensive gloves can be found with adequate grip and protection. However, professional racers often require a more heavy-duty glove. These gloves can often cost several hundred dollars.
